Ask any seasoned beauty pageant professional and they will tell you the contest is won during the interview. However, there is no other aspect of the beauty pageant that instills as much fear and nervousness as the interview and its question and answer session.
The interview portion of a beauty pageant is where the contestant has her chance to reveal that she is much more than a pretty face or a perfect body. The interview reveals the qualities that she holds dear and true to her heart as well as reveals her level of self-confidence in the areas that she believes in. Everything from what she says to how she says it will be judged during this time.
To answer interview questions effectively, the contestant will need to focus on gathering her thoughts before hand. Her answers should be given in a logical and coherent manner as well as spoken with proper inflection and annunciation. If you struggle with nervousness, then you will need to address this in your training. When you answer your interview questions, you need to sound confident, assured, and convicted of your answer. It is not just enough to say, “Yes” or “No”. You will need to give a detailed explanation of your convictions and beliefs and to present this answer to the judges in a confident manner.
Practicing sample interview questions is a great way for any contestant to help prepare themselves for their moment in the spotlight. Some of the most popular questions deal with topics that are important to humanitarian causes and reveal how you feel about societal issues. You may be asked how you would deal with homelessness, what qualities you believe a role model should possess, what your plans are for your future, why you entered the competition, how winning the crown would help you in your life, how did you prepare for the contest, and how would you change the world if you were elected president. Reviewing past contestant’s answers and taking notice of how the winner’s responded will shed great light on what type of answers judges are looking for.
No matter what interview question is posed to you, you should always answer any interview question in four simple steps. First, take at least three seconds to pause before you begin answering the question. This shows that you are not rushing to answer the question with a “packaged” answer. You don’t want to make the judges think that you have your answer prepared. Wait three seconds, and then begin to answer. Second, you should answer by stating that this is your belief or conviction. Sentence starters such as, “I believe” or “I feel strongly” will add meat to your answer. Third, after your lead in sentence, share your convictions while answering the question. When you are through answering the question you should summarize your statement. This is the fourth and final step. Summarize your answer by stating, “Overall, I believe.” Working with your personal beauty pageant trainer as well as a vocal coach can help you gain the confidence that you need to secure your crown.

We have all heard about the benefits of essential fatty acids, such as Omega-3, 6 and 9. But did you know that your body can make it’s own Omega-9 from the foods we eat? It can’t however make the other two. Our bodies cannot manufacture the essential fatty acids we need, so we have to make sure that the many sources available are included in our diets. Below is a list of common foods that contain Omega-3 and Omega-6.
Dietary Sources of Omega-3
·flax / walnuts
·oily fish
·seal
Dietary Sources of Omega-6
·plants and vegetables (especially in cooking oils)
Unless you consume a lot of oily fish, you are probably not getting your daily Omega-3 requirement. Omega-6 on the other hand is in abundance. So mush so that our diets actually contain too much Omega-6. An easy way to get more Omega-3 into your system is through supplements, which there are three types. Below is an explanation of the three types of Omega-3 supplements available on the market today.
Flax Oil
Flax oil is a non-marine source of Omega-3 and contains the Omega-3 called alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which the body needs and cannot make for itself. Several other sources of ALA do exist, most notably walnuts and hemp seed. However, because flax only yields ALA, which then must be converted into EPA and DHA by the body, it is not an effective source of Omega-3 for the following reasons:
·Converting ALA into EPA and DHA is not very efficient, especially as one gets older
·Bodily conversion of ALA results in low levels of EPA and DHA
·Flax oil contains no DPA, the third main component of Omega-3
·Flax oil is high in Omega-6, something our bodies do not need
The estimated rate of ALA to EPA and DHA conversion ranges from 5% to 25%. This means in order to make sufficient amounts of EPA and DHA, one would need to consume 5 to 6 times more ALA than you would if you were to use fish oil alone.
Fish Oil
Whether you are eating fish or taking fish oil supplements, fish has been known to contain numerous health benefits, especially fatty species that are rich sources of Omega-3 fatty acids. Proven benefits range from lowering triglycerides and blood pressure and the risk of heart disease, to the more subtle effects of reducing chronic inflammation. Fish oils provide a direct source of EPA and DHA. There are, however, some problems with fish oils:
·High in Omega-6
·Low levels of DPA
·Fish are susceptible to chemical pollutants and dioxins in the water
Seal Oil
Seal oil is one of the best and most direct sources of EPA, DHA and DPA, the third component of Omega-3. While DPA is present in some fish and fish oils, the levels are much lower than seal oil, about 1/5. Seal is oil has been found to be the best source of Omega-3 for the following reasons:
·Seal oil contains the highest levels of DPA (up to 10 times more than fish oils)
·It is chemically similar to the Omega-3 found in our bodies
·Seals can filter out chemical impurities better than fish
Unlike both flax and fish oil, seal oil has only traces of Omega-6, and may be one of the best Omega-3 supplements to reduce the imbalance of Omega-3:Omega-6.

But often in the hustle of work and responsibility, most of us forget to convey our appreciation and acknowledgement towards the boss, though we cherish the heartfelt admiration for him but often it remains unexpressed. That’s why, National Boss’s Day, commonly known as Boss’s Day offers the employees an opportunity to express their gratitude and appreciation towards their boss, manager, supervisors or CEO on October 16, every year ! The history and origin behind the formation of Boss’s Day tells an interesting story.
Patricia Bays Haroski is given the sole credit for creating National Boss’s Day on October 16. She was an employee at State Farm Insurance Company in Deerfield, Ill. In 1958, in honor of her Boss she registered the holiday with the Chamber of Commerce of the United States.
Was she an amazingly lucky employee, who had the world’s best boss? Well, apparently she was an appreciative daughter, who worked under her own father, but was thoughtful enough to notice the hardship and hurdles that her father had to go through to run the company but still managed to remain the source of encouragement and inspiration and good advice to all his employees. October 16 was the birthday of Patricia Bays Haroski’s father, and she though it would be the ideal day for the employees to officially acknowledge and honor the hard work of the Bosses and superiors nationwide.
Four years later, Governor of Illinois, Otto Kerner, welcomed the proposal of observing National Boss’s Day and officially proclaimed the day in 1962. The idea became popular across the country in no time and soon, even England, Australia and South Africa started celebrating Boss’s Day in full throttle.
Today, Boss’s day is marked as the day to improve the employee-superior relationship and to make employees realize the difficulties and pressure that the boss has to face day in and day out to run an organization. There are more than thirty seven million professionals working in management, supervisor and other related fields in the US alone. Nowadays, the bosses and supervisors are not only responsible for giving orders and getting the work done, rather they are playing a more diversifies role as mentors , motivators and Team Builders. All this responsibilities requires him to exercise a greater amount of interaction and involvement with the employees and subordinates.
Some ecard publishers like 123greetings and americangreetings have boss day cards even for ex boss and women boss .
A Boss mentors the employees and subordinates in decision making skills, he is often the coach and a part of the team as well. Today Bosses and supervisors are required to be more productive and pro-active in building their team and get more results than before .To make the workplace much more congenial workers and subordinate’s relationship with the boss needs to be improved every day for greater productivity .Celebrating Boss’s Day at work is the stepping stone to achieving that goal. There’s no doubt that job satisfaction in any organization depends largely upon the constructive relationship between the employee and the boss.
